IMPACT & SUSTAINABILITY
Building a new terminal today is a rare opportunity to reimagine how an airport connects with its community and environment. That’s why we see sustainability not just as a vision, but as a responsibility.
As the aviation industry evolves, airports must evolve with it, integrating greener practices at every level. This new chapter is our chance to embed sustainability into the very foundations of MET, designing with efficiency, innovation, and long-term environmental responsibility in mind.
True progress comes through transparency and collaboration. Sustainability is a shared responsibility, one that requires collective effort and ongoing dialogue. By working with our community and experts, we’re building an airport that responds to today’s needs while preparing for tomorrow’s challenges.

REDUCING OUR IMPACT
Optimized energy use, sustainable building materials, and improved operational efficiency all contribute to lowering the airport’s overall carbon footprint. MET also prioritizes responsible water management — a precious resource, even in Québec. Our measures include tracking water use, deploying high-performance environmental equipment, and monitoring stormwater quality. Together, these actions reflect a long-term commitment to reducing our environmental impact for generations to come.

INNOVATION
A UNIQUE TESTING GROUND
With the LIA – Living Lab for Innovation in Aerospace, MET opens its infrastructure and operations to research and testing. This collaborative environment transforms the airport into a real-world platform where businesses, researchers, and institutions can design, test, and refine the solutions of tomorrow.
